Forefield Trail - Interpretive Scenic Walk
Take a walk back in time along the Forefield Trail, and explore fascinating stories along the retreating path of the mighty Athabasca Glacier. Your experienced guide will share a wealth of information on the retreat of the glacier, its surrounding habitat and many incredible facts that will leave you in awe. This two-hour journey will provide you with visible evidence of the glacier’s path, enlightenment on the impact of glacial melt water, a behind the scenes look at this harsh environment and how plants and wildlife survive in such conditions, as well as a brief look at the human history in the area.

Daily at 11:00am, 2:30pm and 7:30pm
Departs from the Icefield Centre at the Columbia Icefield
**Reservations are not required but please arrive 30 minutes prior to your departure time for tour check-in. The ticket counter is located on the main level of the Icefield Centre. Sturdy shoes are recommended.
NOTE: THIS TOUR DOES NOT VENTURE ONTO THE GLACIER SURFACE.
Glaciers can be dangerous. Never venture onto the Glacier without a Certified Mountaineering Guide.
