The Banff Heritage Passport

Exchange your voucher for the Banff Heritage Passport at either the Cave & Basin, Whyte Museum or the Banff Park Museum. This passport will provide you with admission to all three of these attractions. Please note that this pass can be used any day that you are in Banff.


Cave & Basin National Historic Site of Canada (Closed: June 2010 to November 2011)

Explore the Cave and Basin Centennial Centre located on Cave Avenue. This historical landmark tells the history of how Banff National Park was founded and features the original hot springs discovered by 3 railway workers.

Hours of Operation:
Mid June to Labour Day - Monday to Sunday: 9:00am to 6:00pm
Winter - Monday to Thursday: 11:00am to 4:00pm
Friday to Sunday: 9:30am to 5:00pm

The rate listed as Children above includes ages 7 – 16. Children 6 and under are free. Special Family, Student, and 65+ rate tickets may be purchased at any of the three Museums.

*** Please note that this venue will be close for a complete renovation as of May 31, 2010. This Heritage Passport will only be valid for the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies and the Banff Park Museum for the remainder of the year.

The Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies located at 111 Bear Street in Banff introduces visitors to the history and culture of this unique mountain area. The museum offers a glimpse of the "spirit of the wilderness" through displays and programs.

Banff Park Museum National Historic Site of Canada

The Banff Park Museum is a National Historic Site, and is Canada's oldest natural history museum. The museum has wildlife specimens dating back to the 1860's and its original exhibit collection commemorates an early approach to the interpretation of natural history in Canada.

June to Labour Day - Open Daily: 10:00am - 6:00pm
Winter - Open Daily: 1:00pm - 5:00pm
